We have improved the way in which patients can access our services.  From January 17th 2022 patients have been able to use our website and NHS app to request appointments or submit administrative queries using eConsult.

Our phone lines remain open, however eConsult allows patients to submit queries without the need to wait on hold. eConsult will be available at the following times:

  • 5am – 9pm Monday to Thursday
  • 5am – 6.30pm Friday
  • 12pm – 9pm Sunday

We will respond to any query submitted up to 12 o’clock on the same working day (Mon-Fri, excluding Bank Holidays). Any submitted after 12 o’clock will be dealt with the next working day at the latest.  For any urgent medical matter after 12 o’clock patients are asked to call the practice directly.  All medical queries will be assessed by our duty doctor who will advise on the best next steps – from appointments or home visits to blood tests or referrals.

eConsult can also be used by our patients’ family members or carers to ask for appointments or information on behalf of the patient by using the proxy access option. In submitting this way, you can also input your details so that we have the option to contact you as the proxy as well as the patient directly.

eConsult not only helps you, but it also helps your practice and fellow patients. By using eConsult first, your practice can better understand the needs of all patients asking for help. By going online, it also frees up the phone lines for patients unable to use computers or the internet. You’ll only be asked to come in for an appointment if your doctor decides you need one – saving you a trip to the practice. You’ll still get a response from your practice quickly and know that your doctor is still there to help you.
