COVID-19 Autumn Booster 2024
The COVID-19 Autumn Booster vaccination scheme is due to start September/October 2024, exact date TBD. If you are eligible for vaccination, you will be invited to book an appointment. Housebound patients will be contacted nearer the time to accept or decline the vaccine, and will then be added to the list for a home visit.
You are eligible for the autumn booster if you are in any of the following groups:
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- All adults aged 65 years and over
- People aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group
- Frontline health and social care workers.
- People aged 12 to 64 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression
- People aged 16 to 64 years who are carers and staff working in care homes for older adults
Flu Vaccines
This year, the Practice will start giving Flu vaccines from 3rd October to eligible patients in line with government guidance. Scientific evidence has shown that it is better to have the flu jab later than in previous years to make sure patients have cover closer to the time that flu typically circulates for eligible patients.
We are holding a vaccination clinic at Queen Square Surgery on Saturday 12th October from 9am – 4pm.
Some patients may have already started to get invites to book in – please use this opportunity to decline the flu and/or COVID vaccine at this time.
