Aileen Menzies

Research Practitioner Lead

Aileen works Monday to Friday (09:00–17:30) as the Research Practitioner Lead, providing day-to-day leadership for research activity within the practice.
She oversees the safe and effective delivery of studies, supports study set-up and coordination, and works closely with clinicians and the wider research team to embed research into routine primary care.
Aileen plays a key role in ensuring studies are delivered to a high standard, in line with regulatory, governance, and patient safety requirements, while supporting and developing the practice’s research team.
Personal Profile. Aileen is an experienced Clinical Research Practitioner, with almost ten years’ experience working across research administration and patient-facing clinical research roles within the NHS. She is fully registered with the Academy for Healthcare Science and has supported studies from early set-up through to close-out, including patient recruitment, consent, clinical assessments, and data management. She brings a calm, organised, and patient-focused approach to her work, with strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for research that improves care and outcomes.
