Oral B12 (Cyanocobalamin) Prescribing
The NHS in South Cumbria and Lancashire needs to ensure that local NHS resources are used in the best way possible for all patients. In line with recently updated NHS guidance, Queen Square Medical Practice has been issued with guidance that states Cyanocobalamin tablets (Vitamin B12) can no longer be prescribed in primary care.
If you are currently being prescribed this medication we are now asking that going forward this should now be purchased from a health food shop, pharmacy or supermarket in your local community.
All of those patients currently prescribed this medication will be contacted in due course informing them of this change.
